ISTANBUL, Turkey -- Top-seeded Elena Dementieva defeated American Jill Craybas 6-1, 6-4 Thursday to advance to the semifinals of the Istanbul Cup.

The seventh-ranked Russian will play sixth-seeded Akgul Amanmuradova of Uzbekistan, who upset third-seeded Nadia Petrova 7-6 (0), 1-6, 6-4 in the warm-up event for the French Open.

Second-seeded Agnieszka Radwanska rallied to defeat Andreja Klepac 1-6, 6-2, 6-4, and eighth-seeded Tsvetana Pironkova of Bulgaria edged fourth-seeded Olga Govortsova 7-6 (4), 7-6 (2).
