METZ, France -- Seventh-seeded Radek Stepanek of the Czech Republic beat France's Michael Llodra 6-7 (5), 6-1, 7-6 (0) on Thursday to advance to the Open de Moselle quarterfinals.
Stepanek dominated the deciding tiebreak to reach his first quarterfinals since the clay-court Rome Masters in May. Stepanek will face Argentina's Eduardo Schwank, who outlasted Romania's Victor Hanescu 7-6 (6), 6-7 (5), 6-3.
France's Adrian Mannarino also advanced with a 6-4, 7-5 win over South Africa's Rik de Voest. Mannarino will play France's Marc Gicquel, a 6-3, 7-6 (4) winner over countryman Nicolas Mahut.
Fourth-seeded Paul-Henri Mathieu won another all-French matchup, beating Romain Jouan 6-3, 6-3. Mathieu will face Serbia's Janko Tipsarevic.
"I prefer to play earlier during the day, since I always feel like I have more energy in the afternoon," Mathieu said. "I'm happy to be playing well again after a difficult period during the summer."
In the other quarterfinal, fifth-seeded Dmitry Tursunov of Russia will meet Spanish veteran Carlos Moya.
