Rezai, Govortsova reach second round
ISTANBUL -- Fourth-seeded Aravane Rezai of France and No. 7 Olga Govortsova of Belarus advanced to the second round of the Istanbul Cup on Monday.
Need the scores from any match played in today's tournaments? Rezai beat Viktoriya Kutuzova of Ukraine 7-6 (3), 6-2 and Govortsova edged Tsvetana Pironkova of Bulgaria 6-2, 5-7, 6-4 at the clay-court tournament.
Marta Domachowska of Poland rallied to defeat Patricia Mayr of Austria 1-6, 6-2, 6-0; Timea Bacsinszky of Switzerland topped Polona Hercog of Slovenia 6-2, 6-2; and Pemra Ozgen of Turkey downed Arantxa Rus of Netherlands 6-3, 6-7 (2), 6-2.
