Medina Garrigues reaches quarters
ISTANBUL -- Third-seeded Anabel Medina Garrigues of Spain beat wild card Pemra Ozgen of Turkey 2-6, 6-2, 6-0 to advance to the quarterfinals of the Istanbul Cup.

Medina Garrigues is to meet fifth-seeded Vera Dushevina of Russia in the quarterfinals.
In other matches on Thursday, eighth-seeded Lucie Hradecka of the Czech Republic topped Julia Goerges of Germany 2-6, 6-4, 6-1; Urszula Radwanska of Poland ousted qualifier Ekaterina Dzehalevich of Belarus 7-5, 1-6, 6-4; and Germany's Andrea Petkovic beat Rossana De Los Rios of Paraguay 6-1, 6-0.
The tournament's top seeds -- No. 1 Vera Zvonareva of Russia and No. 2 Patty Schnyder of Switzerland -- were knocked out in the first round.
