GUANGZHOU, China -- Shahar Peer of Israel has won her first WTA Tour title in three years, beating Alberta Brianti 6-3, 6-4 of Italy in the Guangzhou Open final.

The fifth-seeded Peer's last championships came in Prague, Istanbul and Pattaya, Thailand in 2006. The eighth-seeded Brianti was playing in her first tour final on Sunday. Both women got to the finals without losing a set.

The Israeli got to the finals by beating China's Peng Shuai, who withdrew in the second set of their semifinal with a wrist injury.

Brianti, ranked No. 85 in the world, upset seventh-seeded Ayumi Morita of Japan 6-3, 7-5.
