Wickmayer thwarts Flipkens in quarters
LUXEMBOURG -- Yanina Wickmayer defeated Kirsten Flipkens 7-6 (1), 4-6, 6-1 in an all-Belgian match Friday to reach the semifinals of the Luxembourg Open.
Need the scores from any match played in today's tournaments? She will play Timea Bacsinszky of Switzerland, who beat Katarina Srebotnik 6-7 (3), 6-1, 6-4. Wickmayer is seeking her second straight tournament victory after winning the title in Linz, Austria.
Shahar Peer of Israel upset fourth-seeded Daniela Hantuchova 6-2, 7-6 (4).
She'll face Sabine Lisicki, who ousted Patty Schnyder 6-4, 6-2.
