Dulko tops Zahlavova in straight sets

BOGOTA -- Top-seeded Gisela Dulko of Argentina closed in on her first Latin American WTA Tour title Friday, putting away sixth-seeded Sandra Zahlavova of the Czech Republic 6-2, 6-3 in the Copa Colsanitas quarterfinals.

Dulko has won titles in Europe, Africa and North America and came close to adding to them in last year's Bogota final. She's the only semifinalist who has won on the tour.

Next up is fifth-seeded Angelique Kerber, the seven-year pro from Germany who was into her first career semifinals after beating Pauline Parmentier of France 6-1, 6-4.

The semis will also be a first for Mariana Duque Marino of Colombia, who upset seventh-seeded Klara Zakopalova of the Czech Republic, 6-0, 7-6 (4).

Also, eighth-seeded Arantxa Parra Santonja of Spain knocked out third-seeded Sara Errani of Italy 7-5, 6-2 to reach her first WTA Tour semifinal in seven years.
