Is Tebow Time running out?

Tim Tebow says he isn't worried about the Patriots' upcoming cuts, but considering the team is notoriously unsentimental, Tebow has to be at least a bit distracted. He's only completed 9 of 24 passes this preseason and didn't play at all in the Patriots' third preseason game. This could be a last chance for Tebow, but if he does make it, who knows what use Bill Belichick will find for him?

There's news that people talk about, and then there's news that makes people talk. Tim Tebow reportedly joining the Patriots? That's news that makes people talk. On Twitter and in SportsNation, athletes and fans were buzzing about the former Broncos and Jets quarterback and Heisman Trophy winner joining Tom Brady and Bill Belichick in New England.

New England Patriots RB Leon Washington

Brian Dawkins, who last played with the Broncos in 2011 and is from Jacksonville, Fla.

Tiki Barber, who tried to come back to the NFL in 2011

As for Tebow: If he had any inkling the Patriots were inviting him to minicamp, he offered no hints. His most recent tweet, as of Sunday afternoon, references other plans for later this month:

Don't discount the Patriots-Jets rivalry as a factor in this. ESPN's Damien Woody would know, since he played for both teams:

A Patriot last season, free agent Donte Stallworth tweeted that Boston won't turn this into a wild ride like the Jets did.

Speaking of a circus, do you remember Tebow's introductory news conference with the Jets? This sports fan did:

Hollywood weighed in as Boston's own Donnie Wahlberg tweeted enthusiasm for the move.

Tim Tebow signs with Patriots

Tim Tebow's stint with the Jets may not have amounted to much, but their arch-rivals have decided to take a chance on him regardless. ESPN's Ed Werder is reporting that Tebow will sign with the Patriots and is expected to report to minicamp on Tuesday. Tebow's no threat to Tom Brady for the starting QB job, but will his signing still be a distraction for the notably drama-free Patriots?

When will the Packers retire No. 4?

Brett Favre holds numerous league and franchise records. He led the Packers to their first Super Bowl win since 1967. But yet, the team hasn't honored his accomplishments by retiring his jersey. Current Green Bay QB Aaron Rodgers hopes it will take place before Favre is inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame. But will No. 4 hang in the upper decks of Lambeau Field anytime soon? Who is most to blame for the dissension?

Chuck Norris supports Tim Tebow

Tim Tebow may have his detractors (and a dearth of available quarterbacking jobs), but one of his true believers might trump all the rest. Actor Chuck Norris gave Tebow his support in a column this week, urging the Jacksonville Jaguars to sign the nomad quarterback. As celebrity endorsements go, it's tough to trump someone who spawned one of the oldest and most pervasive internet memes, but will anyone listen?
