The numbers say Tom Brady no longer is a top-five quarterback. Brady, meanwhile, says only one number matters: the score. All of which is to say, the status of the New England Patriots star is up for discussion. Where does the three-time Super Bowl champion rank among the NFL's signal-callers today?

According to sources, Colin Kaepernick is about to sign a six-year deal with the San Francisco 49ers worth more than $110 million -- with a record $61 million guaranteed. It's hard to argue with the team's success under the soon-to-be-fourth-year man, but where does he rank among his young quarterbacking peers?

Richard Sherman isn't universally loved, especially after his now-infamous postgame tirade against Michael Crabtree and the San Francisco 49ers. But that doesn't mean he's without his fans; quite the opposite, in fact, as the Seattle Seahawks cornerback ranked 10th on the NFL's list of most-bought jerseys. Two of Sherman's teammates, Russell Wilson (second) and Marshawn Lynch (sixth) also made the list. No. 1? Their opponent's quarterback in Super Bowl XLVIII, Peyton Manning.

Better start -- Chiefs or Dolphins?

For the Kansas City Chiefs, 2012 was a bizarre disaster (six Pro Bowlers, two wins). For the Miami Dolphins, it was an intermittently successful rebuilding year (7-9 with a rookie coach and QB). For both, 2013 has been quite a bit better. With a 17-16 home decision over the Dallas Cowboys, the now-Andy Reid-led Chiefs matched their win total from a season ago. With a 24-20 victory over Andrew Luck's Indianapolis Colts, the Ryan Tannehill/Joe Philbin Fins also moved to 2-0 -- and matched their road win total (two) from last campaign. It's early -- very early -- but things are looking up for these long-scuffling franchises.
