Matt Schaub to the Raiders?

Matt Schaub would prefer to forget his disastrous 2013 season with the Houston Texans. And it appears he will be able to do so, as reports indicate he will soon be traded to a team that would also like to forget last season: the Oakland Raiders. Will Schaub have a Rich Gannon-like revival in California? Will the Raiders still draft a quarterback with their No. 5 pick? Are you rooting for a resurrection of Raider Nation? Cast your votes!

Through Week 11 of the 2012 NFL season, the Houston Texans were 9-1, en route to the franchise's second playoff berth. Through Week 11 of the 2013 season, the Texans are 2-8, battling to stay out of the basement of the NFL. So it's understandable if some frustrations bubble to the surface, as they did with an argument between Matt Schaub and Andre Johnson late in Sunday's loss to the Oakland Raiders. Both players said it was no big deal, but who knows what kind of impact this will have on the future of the team?

The players involved always downplay sideline disputes, but are quarterback-receiver squabbles ever a big deal?

Keenum to start over Schaub

Matt Schaub is finally healthy, but the Texans don't have enough confidence in him to give him back his starting role. The team has announced that Case Keenum will start at quarterback on Sunday against the Colts. Keenum threw for 271 yards and a touchdown in Week 7's close loss to the Chiefs -- but perhaps more importantly, he did not throw a crippling pick-six, which seemed for a while like a requirement to be the Texans' QB.

Texans most disappointing team?

What's worse than losing 34-3 at one of the NFL's top teams? Losing 38-13 at home against one of its weakest ... and losing your starting quarterback to an injury ... then watching his backup succumb to the same trend that plagued your top guy. Yes, it's pretty murky down in Houston, where the Texans were humbled by the St. Louis Rams on Sunday. Under-fire Matt Schaub went down with an ankle knock, which actually delighted some fans, but backup T.J. Yates promptly threw an interception returned for a touchdown -- something Schaub had done a record four straight weeks. Houston went 12-4 last season. Is its 2-4 start more disappointing than the struggles in Atlanta and the Giants' side of the Meadowlands?

Schaub, Texans reach new low

Which is worse: Losing a game you had in hand, or having never had a chance to win? Quarterback Matt Schaub, coach Gary Kubiak and the Houston Texans can ponder this question after squandering a 20-6 lead against the Seattle Seahawks a week ago, then seeing Schaub's improbable pick-six streak continue (four in a row) in a 34-3 loss at the San Francisco 49ers on Sunday night. That drops the Texans to 2-3, one loss fewer than they experienced all of last season. Are they done?
