Darrelle Revis might have won a Super Bowl ring with New England Patriots, but that doesn't mean he's displaying undying devotion to his now-former team (he's back with the their archrivals, the New York Jets, after a two-season hiatus, one spent with the Patriots).

Specifically, he has no sympathy for Tom Brady. Revis spoke to Manish Mehta of the New York Daily News, suggesting the franchise's history of rule-breaking likely played a part in Brady's punishment:

"Everybody's blowing it [Deflategate] up because it is Tom Brady. I understand that. But if [the NFL] feels he did the crime or he did something and they want to penalize them, then that's that. [The Patriots] have a history of doing stuff. You can't hide that. ... Tom was there when they did that stuff in the past. ... Stuff repeatedly happened through the years. You got Spygate, you got this and that and everything else."

Spoken like a true Jet (or at least someone who has wiped his hands of his former team). Revis certainly has no responsibility to defend the Patriots, but it does make us anticipate the two matchups between the storied foes this coming season even more than usual.

Revis goes from Bucs to Pats

Revis Island is taking a trip up the East Coast. After being released by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Darrelle Revis signed a deal to join the New England Patriots. For the Bucs, it was a money and draft-position-saving move. For the Pats, it's a way to replace the departed Aqib Talib. For Revis, it's "basically about just winning." What do you make of it all?

Revis on the trade block

The Buccaneers aren't actively shopping Darrelle Revis, but given his expense and relatively poor performance last season, the team is reportedly listening to trade offers for the veteran cornerback. When healthy, Revis is one of the finest corners in the league, a shutdown player with a nose for interceptions, but the Buccaneers could be worried about the $16 million in cap space he's currently taking up. A team with some free space and a need for pass defense might just decide that Revis is due to bounce back.

Trouble in Tampa Bay?

Despite his tweets that he's "happy to be a Buccaneer," Darrelle Revis is reportedly unhappy about Tampa Bay coach Greg Schiano's insistence on playing zone pass defense rather than the man-to-man coverage at which Revis excels. That, along with reports that quarterback Josh Freeman is at odds with Schiano and wants a trade, makes us wonder if there's not a mutiny brewing amid the Bucs' 0-2 start. It's certainly possible that a win or two could put a smile back on the Jolly Roger. But keep this in mind: The Bucs are 1-7 in their last eight regular season games under Schiano. Will he be asked to walk to plank if things don't turn around soon?
