Love to Cavs for Wiggins, more

It's official: Kevin Love is a member of the Cleveland Cavaliers, joining LeBron James and Kyrie Irving on the new-look team. Meanwhile Andrew Wiggins, Anthony Bennett and Thaddeus Young will try to bring the Timberwolves back to the playoffs. There's no telling what could come of this -- Love is an excellent player, but Wiggins could end up being a superstar, and there's no guarantee whether James' second version of a big three will work out as well as the first.

No ''I'' in Team USA hoops?

It has become a regular occurrence to see NBA players deciding against playing for Team USA for a myriad of reasons, ranging from legitimate injuries to simple lack of interest. Managing director Jerry Colangelo calls it a ''broken record'' problem and it played out again over the weekend with Kevin Love bowing out amidst swirling trade rumors that have him headed to Cleveland in the not-too-distant future.

However, Team USA coach Mike Krzyzewski will still have a strong core, including three players from the 2012 gold medal team from Beijing (Anthony Davis, Kevin Durant and James Harden) as well as a budding superstar in Paul George.

Does the roster shuffling make you nervous about Team USA's ability to retain the gold medal? And before we get ahead of ourselves, what about winning the FIBA Basketball World Cup? That would eliminate the need to participate in the qualifying tournament next summer.

LeBron James chooses No. 23

LeBron James' other decision has been made. After four years of wearing No. 6 with the Miami Heat, the newly returned Cavalier will go back to 23 for his second stint in Cleveland. Now there's the small matter of finally bringing a championship to Northeast Ohio -- aided, perhaps, by a trade for Kevin Love.

Andrew Wiggins for Kevin Love?

The Cleveland Cavaliers officially signed Andrew Wiggins on Thursday, meaning he cannot be traded for 30 days. This gives the Minnesota Timberwolves at least that much time to decide whether to send star Kevin Love to Ohio (reportedly in a deal for the 2014 No. 1 overall pick, 2013 No. 1 overall pick Anthony Bennett and a future first-rounder). The Chicago Bulls also seem to have gotten into the mix (with Taj Gibson and Nikola Mirotic as part of their offer), and the Golden State Warriors (provided they trade Klay Thompson) long have been rumored. Andrew Wiggins for Kevin Love?

Perhaps we haven't seen the last of elite player movement in the 2014 NBA offseason. After long insisting they wouldn't trade Andrew Wiggins, the Cleveland Cavaliers reportedly are willing to include the No. 1 overall pick in a deal that would bring Kevin Love from the Minnesota Timberwolves and pair him alongside LeBron James. This would firmly entrench the Cavs in win-now mode. Would it be the right move for Cleveland? For Minnesota?
