Late-night prankster extraordinaire Jimmy Kimmel has pulled another one.

His latest: convincing Metta World Peace he was speaking at a charity event, only to have co-conspirator Cousin Sal as his driver and Metta's former New York Knicks teammate Amar'e Stoudemire. The result, predictably, was gold:

Now, we must disclaim: This could all be an elaborate prank on us viewers.

After all, Kimmel is a master of the hoax ... Mr. World Peace kept his cool far better than you or we probably would have.

Eli and Peyton Manning's "Football on Your Phone" video blew up on the Internet this week, amassing nearly 5 million views in two days. Now the younger Manning says his rap career is likely "one-and-done," meaning he might not reach the heights of certain athletes who tried hip-hop. Still, with one big hit and widespread love, he already has passed a few ill-fated would-be rappers. Who's the best? Click the images below to make your picks!

Lakers use amnesty on Metta World Peace

The changes keep coming for the Los Angeles Lakers, who used their amnesty provision to cut ties with onetime NBA Finals hero Metta World Peace. The forward formerly known as Ron Artest was a key cog on the title-winning team in 2010, and he started 270 games over four seasons in Southern California. But his high salary and advancing age made him expendable to the Lakers, who will look a lot different at the start of next season. As in, no Kobe Bryant (probably), no Dwight Howard, no World Peace ...

For the first time in a long time, the Lakers will have the lineup they were planning on when they signed Steve Nash and Dwight Howard. Kobe Bryant and Pau Gasol will return to the Lakers tonight, and they will be thrown right back into the starting lineup. The Lakers have been a different team in the second half and are comfortably over .500 -- since they're finally healthy, will they actually be a team to beat come playoff time? That is, if they make the playoffs, of course.

Lance Armstrong admitted that his seven Tour de France titles were aided by PEDs in a less-than-remorseful interview with Oprah Winfrey. Manti Te'o was well-known for his talent on the football field, but now he's mostly known for having a relationship with a fake girlfriend. The former world-class cyclist and Notre Dame linebacker topped Forbes' list of America's most disliked athletes, but where do they fall on yours?
