The lineups for the 2014 Home Run Derby have been set, with National League captain Troy Tulowitzki picking Todd Frazier, Yasiel Puig, NL home run leader Giancarlo Stanton and Rockies teammate Justin Morneau, while AL caption Jose Bautista selected defending derby champion Yoenis Cespedes, Josh Donaldson, Adam Jones and, in somewhat of a surprise move, second baseman Brian Dozier of the hometown Minnesota Twins. Dodgers without Clayton Kershaw?

The word on two-time National League Cy Young Award winner Clayton Kershaw isn't good. Although the Los Angeles Dodgers don't know when their ace will return, they say back inflammation will sideline the lefty for at least two to three weeks. Naturally this isn't great for the club; Kershaw posted an absurd 1.83 ERA a year ago. But the Dodgers aren't a one-man team, and were heavy favorites to win the NL West before the season started.

Dodgers' payroll higher than NYY

Many never thought this day would come. But it has. Long considered the "Evil Empire" because of their massive payroll, the New York Yankees have been passed by the Los Angeles Dodgers on Major League Baseball's list of highest combined player salaries. L.A.'s figure: $235 million. New York's? A "mere" $204 million. Does this change your view of the Yankees? Does baseball need a salary cap? Does money limit your enjoyment of winning?
