Who will win the Fiesta Bowl?
Don't be put off by the lack of prestige traveling to Glendale, Ariz., this January. While Baylor and UCF aren't exactly renowned programs, each will relish its rare trip to a major bowl. The Bears haven't been to a big postseason contest in decades. The Knights? Never. The only thing that might make the Fiesta Bowl an uninteresting blowout is Baylor's offense; the nation's best scoring unit has been hard for everyone (except Oklahoma State) to stop. Who will win the Rose Bowl?
It's the 100th edition of the Granddaddy of Them All, and the two teams involved certainly won't lack passion. Stanford, which won the Rose Bowl a year ago, might have been thinking national title earlier in the year, but certainly didn't let any disappointment show during its dismantling of Arizona State in the Pac-12 title game. Michigan State? It hasn't played in the Pasadena, Calif., bowl since 1988, and just knocked off then-No. 2 Ohio State to get here. In other words, it should be a good one.
Who will win the Sugar Bowl?
Talk about teams coming from different places. Alabama in late November seemed likely to play for its third straight national championship; instead, a shocking loss to Auburn doomed the Crimson Tide to a secondary BCS bowl. Oklahoma, meanwhile, lost handily to Texas and Baylor in a span of four weeks, yet roared back to win its last three -- including a Big 12 title-denying upset of rival Oklahoma State on Dec. 7. Who wins in New Orleans?
Who will win the Orange Bowl?
A January trip to South Florida should not be played down, but it'd be hard to believe the two Orange Bowl teams aren't a little disappointed with their postseason destination. Clemson entered the year eager to prove itself a title-caliber team, only to see that dream shattered by a crushing defeat to Florida State in October. Ohio State got even further, needing a win over Michigan State in the Big Ten title game to earn a trip to the BCS championship contest (needless to say, the Buckeyes didn't get it). Still, if these two teams show up motivated, it could be quite the shootout.
