Booed in the Bronx

Sunday, July 23, 2006
9:30 a.m. ET on ESPN

Terrell Owens is now a Dallas Cowboy, but his experience with the Philadelphia Eagles is still front-page news since he released a tell-all book, "T.O.," a book that delves into his confrontations with coaches and teammates. Simon and Schuster publisher David Rosenthal says they gave T.O. the opportunity because he's "willing to piss somebody off." But T.O. is not the first superstar to reveal all to the public. A litany of books such as "Instant Replay," "Ball Four," and most recently," Juiced," disclosed the intimate details of teams' locker-room intrigue. Outside the Lines' Jeremy Schaap reports on the motivation to write tell-all books, which will be followed by a discussion about the popularity and fallout from such books. Also on the show, in a classic, "what have you done for me lately," scenario, last year's AL MVP Alex Rodriguez is being booed in New York for failing to hit in the clutch and shoddy fielding. Outside the Lines examines why Rodriguez is being booed in the Bronx. Bob Ley hosts.

Guests include
Ken Davidoff: New York Newsday national baseball columnist
Jerry Kramer: Former Green Bay Packers guard and kicker (1958-68), co-wrote "Instant Replay" with Dick Schaap in 1968
Tim Green: Former Atlanta Falcons defensive end (1986-1993), wrote his autobiography "The Dark Side of the Game" in 1996
Peter Golenbock: Co-author of Johnny Damon autobiography -- "Idiot", co-author of Sparky Lyle autobiography -- "The Bronx Zoo"
