Step one: Identify your favorite teams. Step two: Follow them everywhere they go. Step three: Cheer, rant and express anything and everything you feel about the coaches, players, athletic directors, owners, GMs and other fans.

hoops team
Could this be the next crop of NCAA Tournament stars? Ortega267 coaches his son in the National Youth Sports league in Austin, Texas.

Talking, complaining and boasting about athletics is the soundtrack of SportsNation, and these are the blogs, videos, conversations and photos that we tapped along with this week.

ccanalin86: So upset I had to blog about it
Time to get over yourselves leagues. Who's this pregame dunk really hurting? Some 50-year-old sign of respect? Or an entire kids basketball season? I think it's time to update. Let my people dunk!

seanhennette: Say good bye to Cinderella (mid-majors)
There is a long-standing rite of passage that the mid-majors have been given and I think that it is a farce. March Madness has somehow turned into which 13 is going to upset which 5, who is the Cinderella of the tourney. For the most part, those make great water cooler fodder and give the talking heads "someone to watch out for." Where I have a real problem is with the automatics. Where does the MEAC get a sense of entitlement?

LoPost43: Should I Stay Or Should I Go?
The Suns' roster and how it should be managed following this season was one of the hot topics being debated during last night's coverage of their loss at home to the Cleveland Cavaliers. Here are my humble opinions as to who should stay and who should go:

Shaquille O'Neal, C – GO! Shaq’s contract has him coming back next season but the Suns should definitely look to move him if they can get something of value in return, like draft picks or young talent.

Goliathxr's blog: What really grinds my gears (pt. 2)
I'll tell you what else grinds my gears: Hockey in the southern and coastal United States. I mean really, the Phoenix Coyotes? Has anyone in Phoenix ever seen ice that's not in their freezer? By now you can tell I live in Minnesota. There is no bigger joke than a hockey team in an area that is at a constant 90 degrees.

nhielema: A Classic it will be
As the first round of the 2009 World Baseball Classic comes to an end, I can't help thinking how surprised I have been. Not by the fact that on Saturday the Netherlands upset what many thought, and still could be, a team that could have a chance of winning the tournament. Nor am I talking about Italy's stunning win of Canada last night, which took Canada out of play. I have been surprised that one week into the Classic I am still interested.

egamiesrever: Kiper versus Cutler
Mel Kiper recently compared Jay Cutler to Jeff George. Last week in a conversation I referred to Cutler as Plummer v2.0. I think it's funny to me that the apologists for Cutler have lined up to defend him based on stats, stats that mirror those two QBs who had moderately respectable careers but will never be in that greatest QB debate. I rarely agree with Mel, but I agree with him on Cutler and his ability.

lovelykd: New York, New York: T.O. lands in Buffalo
I guess Drew Rosenhaus wasn't pulling a Scott Boras after all; there really were other teams who were willing to roll the dice on Mr. Owens. Well, good for you Buffalo. You finally have a premier wide receiver to help out your talented Lee Evans.
