The 10 semifinalists for the 2008 Doak Walker Award, recognizing the nation's premier running back, have been announced. Every guy on this list knows how to make defenders look silly in the open field, but who has the right moves to outrun his peers in a wide-open field of candidates? Will Javon Ringer's bevy of touchdowns win you over? How about Tyrell Fenroy's gaudy average, or Glen Coffee's anchoring of a top contender? You decide, SportsNation!

The Guaranty Bank SMU Athletic Forum, the organization in charge of the Doak Walker Award, will give an official vote to the winner of SportsNation's ranking. That's right, SportsNation: You have a say in the award winner. Your No. 1 running back will receive an official vote to help determine the three finalists. The 2008 Doak Walker Presentation Banquet will be held Friday, Feb. 6, 2009 at the Hilton Anatole Hotel in Dallas.

The prestigious Doak Walker Award was created in 1989 to recognize the nation's premier running back for his accomplishments on the field, achievements in the classroom and citizenship in the community. It is the only major collegiate football award that requires all candidates to be in good academic standing and on schedule to graduate within one year of other students of the same classification.
