In what proved to be the most accurate video game simulation to date, Madden NFL 09's pre-game predictions of Super Bowl XLIII are pretty mind-blowing when you compare the sim's stats to what took place in the real game.
Here are the numbers:
| MADDEN 09 SIMULATION | ACTUAL GAME | |
| Score at halftime | Steelers 21, Cardinals 7 | Steelers 17, Cardinals 7 |
| Final score | Steelers 28, Cardinals 24 | Steelers 27, Cardinals 23 |
| Ben Roethlisberger | 21/28 for 238 yards | 21/30 for 256 yards |
| Kurt Warner | 27/38 for 275 yards | 31/43 for 377 yards |
| Santonio Holmes | 8 catches for 131 yards | 9 catches for 131 yards |
| Larry Fitzgerald | 9 catches for 105 yards | 7 catches for 127 yards |
As you can see, the game even predicted a starring role for Santonio Holmes, simulating the MVP's receiving yards perfectly at 131.
If EA Sports keeps this up, will their simulations start to affect the Vegas spread?
