Ovechkin picked for 'NHL 2K10' cover
"It's a good time to be Ovi!," Alex Ovechkin says after being named cover athlete of 2K Sports' upcoming video game, "NHL 2K10."

And if you're the left winger for the Washington Capitals, this is just the icing on the cake of what has been an incredible year. As the 2009 Maurice "Rocket" Richard Award winner and Hart Memorial Trophy candidate, Ovechkin has become the one of the most exciting players in all of sports with his electrifying speed and dazzling goals.
And Ovechkin hopes to help add those same moves into "NHL 2K10" with 2K Sports' first-ever outdoor hockey motion-capture session being held in the Roman Plaza at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas on June 16. Ovechkin will skate on synthetic ice along with game producers and Ryan Kesler of the Vancouver Canucks as they try to capture the signature styles of each star to incorporate into the game.
"It's an incredible honor, and I look forward to working with 2K Sports to make "NHL 2K10" the most fun and amazing hockey video game experience ever," adds Ovechkin. "I can't wait to put some of my moves in there."
"NHL 2K10" is in development for the PlayStation 3, PlayStation 2, Xbox 360, and Wii and will be released this fall.
