PHOENIX -- Mercury guard Edwina Brown suffered a ruptured Achilles tendon that will likely force her to miss the entire season, the team said Tuesday.
Brown injured the tendon during a practice on Monday night.
"This is a really tough loss for this team," said Mercury General Manager Seth Sulka.
The fifth-year player was acquired in April 2003 from the Detroit Shock, where she spent the first three seasons of her WNBA career.
Brown has posted averages of 5.2 points and 2.2 assists.
