Fever brings in DeForge, Sutton-Brown

INDIANAPOLIS -- The Indiana Fever re-signed guard Anna DeForge and agreed to terms with free agent center Tammy Sutton-Brown on Friday.

To make room for Sutton-Brown, an All-Star with the disbanded Charlotte Sting, the Fever sent La'Tangela Atkinson to Sacramento in exchange for a second-round draft pick next year.

"Tammy gives us a big presence in the middle with her size and strength," Fever general manager Kelly Krauskopf said. "She is one of top post players in the WNBA."

Sutton-Brown, a 2002 All-Star, averaged 11.2 points and 5.9 rebounds last season. A six-year veteran, she was an unrestricted free agent and was not included in the dispersal draft in January after the Sting folded.

DeForge, starting her sixth season, averaged 10.2 points with
the Fever last year.
