Former UConn star Thomas gets tryout
SEATTLE -- The Seattle Storm today added 6-foot-3 center Kasha Terry and guard Melanie Thomas to their 2009 training camp roster.
Terry was a second-round pick by the Indiana Fever in the 2006 WNBA draft and has played three seasons in the league. She played in 20 games for the Atlanta Dream and two games for the Fever last season, averaging 4.3 points and 3.1 rebounds. She played at Georgia Tech.
Thomas is currently averaging 22.3 points in Basketball Ireland's SuperLeague. She played four seasons for UConn, averaging 9.5 points and 2.0 assists.
The Storm will open its 2009 WNBA schedule June 6 at Sacramento.
