Minnesota Lynx forward Maya Moore talks about how it feels to be the No. 1 pick in the WNBA draft. Moore says she will use the four losses in her UConn career as motivation to win in the WNBA.
The team announced the signing Thursday. Terms were not disclosed.
Moore won two national championships at Connecticut, and is a four-time All-American who averaged 22.8 points this season.
She also was the only collegian to play on the U.S. women's national team that won a gold medal at the world championship in October.
Moore was part of a record 90-game winning streak during her college career. She joins a Lynx team that has made the playoffs just twice since entering the league in 1999.
Moore's first on-court action with the Lynx will be May 24 in an exhibition game against the Indiana Fever.
Minnesota's regular season begins June 3 at Los Angeles, followed by a home game against the Sparks June 5.
