NEW YORK -- After a slow start, the New York Liberty settled down in the second half and pulled out a victory in another tight game with the Detroit Shock.
• The Liberty overcame a six-point deficit entering the fourth quarter to win Game 1 of the Eastern Conference finals.
• After shooting just 28 percent from the field in the first half, the Liberty took the lead thanks to a 12-1 run in the fourth quarter.
• The Liberty also beat the Shock in Game 1 of the first round last season, but lost the next two games at The Palace of Auburn Hills.
